Barbie Bus Re-Vamped..... Part Two

Image
I FINISHED my bus at last after two and a half years... I blame the weather you need good weather for outdoor spraying. It has nothing to do with me procrastinating!!!! The pictures are photos stuck onto a sponge type backing (check out next weeks post)  The lamp is a drawer knob  Check out the 'bling' lights (glue was still a little wet on the right hand light but dries clear)  For the flooring I used wallpaper in the living area and doll house floor for the sleep area  I used a stick up light (IKEA) to light the sleep area  I need to make a slim-line table but this one will work for now. The tiled area that yo can see top right is a shower room or it could be a toilet? At the moment I can't find the shower head? (I put it some place safe I just can't remember where?)  The bed folds in half as an extra seating area and gives more room to move around  Oops! A little chip I need the white paint AGAIN!

This is the bus I have been working on for.... TWO YEARS!!!!  No mine was second hand and had been 'well loved' it never looked this good First job was to remove all the inside. Some of it came out quite easy and some....not!  I decided on a 'posh' bus so chrome on the outside and a black, white and chrome inside. I always spray with and undercoat first them thine layers of the selected colour followed by a sealant. For the shell I under-coated the whole thing white the painted the inside white. That was the easy bit before I sprayed the outside I needed to mask off all the windows and holes. I did the windows first the the top. I left the door off until the end as this allowed me access to the inside. First I sprayed the unit white. With this unit it had a lid that lifted when the drawer was opened. I wanted the drawer but not the lid but removing the lid left a space so I filled this with a piece of foam core. I then added a new foam core to

Life can be such a PAIN I have had soooo little time for me let alone my Dioramas. But Sophie started college on Monday and Amy this morning so now I have some time AT LAST! First though before I start about me and mine, this diorama site link was posted on facebook and I wanted to pass it along. It's OK no need to be on facebook to look it's on wordpress. It's called davidneat    http://davidneat.wordpress.com/ But now I think I will be able to come back to some much needed doll/diorama therapy? The doll room is still one BIG mess as I find myself working not only forwards but back and sideways too. After the floods earlier in the year when all the dioramas on the ground level had to be removed .... then returned and I ended up re-doing a lot of it I then decided to clean a few cars and find a HUGE damp patch (now fixed) and cars are now cleaned. I then decided to start back at the begging and fix all the stuff I worked on before I learnt that I was doing it all wro
